About the forum

American culture is obsessed with the legal system, judging by the variety of legal thrillers, courtroom TV shows, and feature films about the law. The law regulates human behavior, but it also makes for good entertainment. The fascination with lawyers and what they do will never diminish as long as there is human conflict, and as long as there is curiosity about how the law works and why it sometimes fails.

The Forum on Law, Culture & Society at Fordham Law School is a public humanities program that invites you to satisfy your intellectual curiosity on matters of law, justice, and civil society in a dynamic and engaging town hall setting. The Forum brings together influential artists and leading public figures in conversation with you—the audience—to explore ideas about law and justice, and how the two are integrated into the broader culture.
